Our core values
When asking people for a ‘wish list’ of an ideal criteria for a companion helper, often people would like to have the same person helping them all the time.
Continuity is high up on our priority list. Unlike many agencies who provide similar services. We can ensure that the client’s named supporter/companion is always first choice and only in exceptional circumstances will that change. Establishing the relationship with each client is paramount to understanding each other for the forthcoming regular visits to be most beneficial.
We also take time to keep the lines of communication open amongst family members/whoever initiates us (with the client’s prior agreement of course). This enables us to highlight any concerns, suggest input from external services, and also to integrate additional support equipment and tools to make their life easier and safer.
This approach enables us to be mindful of any safety/ health or similar concerns, thus reducing risk of accidents and missed symptoms.
Giving support and motivation to extended family can be just as important, especially if they are geographically restricted from their relative.
